About Brisbane

Brisbane is a bustling city of 1.6 million people, featuring all the essential offerings of one the nation's fastest growing capitals: world-class facilities, ever-expanding infrastructure and remarkable recreational experiences that take you beyond your business focus.

It is Australia's largest subtropical city, enjoying a climate of vibrant summers and mellow winters that make any time of year a good time to visit. Just one hour's drive from the city, you will discover the lush country hinterland, mountains and forests of southeast Queensland and the blue waters and white sandy beaches of the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast.

Climate and Clothing
Brisbane weather in October is around 20.80 degrees Celsius with average maximums of 26 and minimums of 15 degrees Celsius.  Most days are cool and often dry; we recommend you bring some warm clothing, particularly for the evenings events.

There are many specialty shops in Brisbane. Shops are open from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, (with late night shopping until 9.00pm on Thursday, and in Brisbane City on Friday), 8.30am to 5.00pm on Saturday and from 9.00am to 5.00pm on Sunday.
