Social Program
The Evolution of the Athlete conference provides a range of functions to socialise with other delegates and network. The Welcome Function and Conference Dinner are included in the full registration (one ticket to each function per delegate).
Welcome Function and Registration - Sunday, 26 October 2008
UQ SPORT and the University of QLD will welcome delegates to the 2008 Evolution of the Athlete Conference with a Function at the UQ Centre. Delegates will be treated to drinks and canapés and are provided the opportunity to collect their conference packs and meet other delegates.
Time: From 5.30pm
Additional Tickets can be purchased for guests of delegates for $60 (inc GST). See registration page for details.
Conference Dinner - Monday, 27 October 2008
The 2008 Evolution of the Athlete conference dinner will take place at the Story Bridge Hotel on the city reach of the Brisbane River beneath its namesake, the historic Story Bridge. Attendees will enjoy a three course meal, entertainment and an opportunity to network in the award winning Deery's restaurant.
Time: From 7:00pm

NB: Please note that one Dinner and one Welcome Function ticket is included in Full Registration.
Optional Social Functions
In addition to the functions included in the conference registration, the following are offered to delegates.
UQ John Barnes and Co Race Day - Saturday, 25 October 2008
Delegates are invited to dress up and attend the UQ John Barnes and Co Race Day at Doomben Racecourse to raise funds for the UQ SPORT Sporting Scholarship Program. Touted to be a must-do event for the social calendar, this year's event will also welcome Olympians past and present in honour of the 2008 Olympic Games. The conference social program will tee off with 9 holes at picturesque St Lucia Golf Club nestled into the upper reaches of the Brisbane River. More details to come.....
